Each year we ask over 3.5 million Americans to volunteer and fundraise for the American Cancer Society Relay For Life. This is no simple commitment. We ask that each of these participants do the following:
- Join or form a team of other like minded volunteers
- Raise donations of $100 or more by writing letters or sending emails to family, friends and co-workers, holding bake sales, carwashes, and other fundraisers
- Attend team meetings to coordinate the activities of a team
- Bring their families and teams to an overnight event – bringing tents, lawn chairs, food and drinks, decorations, etc to a park or stadium
- Walk the track, day and night, rain or shine
It is our privilege as an organization to motivate and thank you for your commitment and effort to eliminate cancer through the American Cancer Society Relay For Life. And we are awarded this opportunity through the Team and Individual Fundraising Club programs!
